Guess what? I'm on sick leave for the whole 7 days! yupe, a week long! Yay? *sigh* I'm currently on so called 'quarantine'. Forbid to go out (Out as in from the house)

When I just got sick, I really thought I was having the rashes from all the dust from the store room (was looking for the missing glass cabinet. Darn it! I still can't find it). I was so wrong. Well, I thought it would be all rashes all over from top to bottom. I didn't know that it comes with pain. Ah yes, pain on the joints. Even my toe joint hurts.

It's the 3 day now, most of the rashes on my arms had cleared however there are still some on my feet and the pain are still there. Well excuse me now, as I need to take my shower. Haven't been shower for the 'whole' day. Oh yes, didn't I mentioned? I was told not to take frequent shower too. Weird rite?

Anyways, it's shower time! Ta!

... and when was the last time made an entry? Seriously, I don't even remember.

At first I was kinda busy, then busy turned lazy and my blog got abandoned. Tragic!

However today I got inspired and wanting to blog. Hence, why I'm here (:

Top 3 updates:

1. I got my hair cut 3 times this year (and it's just April!) *Yes, I'm keeping track* By the way, my hair's getting short on each trip to the saloon. The odd part is, I'm getting to like short hair. For those who knows me, I used to have long/very long hair. I had it super straight and wavy too. Can you imagine, people keep on asking me the same question, 'wah, you cut your hair already?', 'not sayang your hair ka?' or 'why cut your hair oh?' Yawn! This is the NEW me! Embrace it (:

2. Still in the same company. Just last week, somebody was telling me. 'What you're still there? go get a new job already!' I wish. Thank you for saying out loud. My friend was introducing me to work in a lawyer's firm. I dunno should I go for it?

3. Got Hitched! Yes, I've upgraded my status from Ms. to Mrs. *wink*

Now, anybody is interested to attend a Music Charity organised by Sabah Institute of Art (SIA) A.K.A Detecke. It's a fundraising for SAWO's Crisis Fund. It's on 8/5/11 (Sunday), 3:00P.M @ The Cross (City Mall). Ticket is selling at RM30.00/person. There will be local band preforming too. Those who's not familiar with SAWO, they are the Sabah Women Action-Resource Group. For more info on SAWO check out their Facebook. Please 'Like' them too when your on it.

After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. Lipstick contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those lipsticks which are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead.

Here is the test you can do yourself:

1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick colour changes to black, then you know the lipstick contains lead.

Can you believe it I forgotten to close & lock the house door and grill door last Sunday before leaving the house!! Funny thing is I did remember to close the gate, but NOT the door & grill door. Luckily my parents came back home not long after I went off. My dad called me and thought I got kidnap and the 'bad guys' ran away with my car coz the door was WIDE open and no one was home. When I heard the news I was SHOCKED, then PANIC, then.. I felt BAD.

Then yesterday I thought I lost my purse, then I realised that I left my purse in the car.

I know.. forgetful Sarah!

I was browsing through one of my friend's blog and I saw the above poster. He is in the verge of quitting smoking (for the 2nd time) - He call it "Saving My Lungs, 2nd Time Quitting Project" I think people who CAN successfully quit that habit seriously should give them a BIG pat on the back and a Medal for being strong mentally. Quitting an addiction not only need strong mind BUT determination.

For all you smokers out there, it's NOT too late to save you lungs. It's an addiction you MUST snap out of it. Loose the Marlboro or you'll loose your lungs. Pick one.

Sorry for the lack of updates (AGAIN!), I wanted to blame on my work, but what's the point right. Well, NOT to worry I'm still life & kicking as usual. Rewind to last year on this month, I was busy for arranging things for Ramadhan, had fun time BBQ with bunch of friends, celebrated friend's bday and etc.. BUT the highlight of the month was I got terribly sick and got disconnected with the outside world. I didn't see it coming but one cannot predict that he/she will get sick right? Looking back, it's been a year now (well ALMOST a year). I'm glad I'm all healthy now.

This afternoon I was at the hospital, Ed's grandpa was admitted to SMC (around 4am). Looking at Ed's grandpa on the sick bed gave me a flash back when I was admitted last year. Sometimes I think we take our good health for granted. (On another note: Did anyone realise HOW expensive are the food in hospital canteen/restaurant? O-M-G!)

Was browsing through my old pics, saw this particular pic of my dog when it was still young. Doesn't all puppies look cuter when it's younger? Tell me, how do u normally call a dog(to get it's attention) if you randomly bump into one...? Let me guess, MOST of you will answer 'ko-pi' or 'kopi'. Correct not? Well, at least for me I'll call it 'ko-pi'. I wonder how did the word 'ko-pi' came about? Anybody knows the answer? Please share ;-) Also, I always talk to my dogs, more like greet them when I see them first thing in the morning or when I get back from work. Like 'been a good girl?' or 'how are you doing?' or even 'got miss me or not?'

For the very first time, I’ve meet a very difficult client from the planet hell. He is making a fuss over small issue and even threaten to write a complain letter to my company if I didn’t do what he requested. Remember the movie ‘white chicks’, the scene where one of the Paris Hilton wannabe sister going to have a BF (B*tch Fit), she took out a paper and pen to write a letter to the boss/director. Well, it’s something similar to that, except it was a guy and he didn’t take out a paper but he keep on saying he is going to snap pictures as a prove that there is something I’m not doing for him. One of his staff was there with him, after he left, she told me, “Dia memang tidak mau mengalah tu, itu style dia” (Translate: He will not give in, that’s his style). Drama, drama, drama..

Speaking of which, tell me what you guys will do in this other situation. You are talking to this girl (who is just an acquaintance), then when u were looking at her eyes (you guys do make eye contact with the person your talking to right? Well, this is not the point), then you realised that the fake eye lashes on her left eye is COMING OFF! On top of that there is something (white flaky stuff) is hanging out from her nose. So, do you guys like: a) Ignore it b) Laugh Out Loud c)Ask her if she checked herself in the mirror d)Tell her about it. If you were the girl do you feel offended if the person you talked to point it out to you?

By the way it’s Justine’s bday today. Tried to call him just now, but he didn’t pick up the calls, turns out that he was resting as he’s down with fever. Poor thing! Justine if your reading this, please get some rest or else 4 hari MC pun tak cukup tu.

I can’t take spicy food, I mean like food with chili in it, or something hot. Like KFC for example, I always order the original flavor never the hot and spicy. However, I don’t mind curry though, well, NOT those very spicy one lar.. else I ended up drinking more water than eating.

I can’t stand seeing people who throw rubbish out from the car, or those who just leave rubbish behind. JUST CAN’T STAND!

I used to fancy Hanson (a band consist of 3 brothers, Taylor, Zac & Issac, gosh..! I still remember their names) when I was in high school. I think Taylor was da’ boom, back them. I *heart* guys with long hair back then. That was back then. Back then okay.

I used to like black colour so much that most of the cloths I had was black. After black, I was into blue colour. Then all the suddent I was into silver colour, after the silver phase, I was into red. Then maroon, grey, brown, white.. Right now I’m into purple. Heck, I still like all the colours I’ve mention, just depends on my mood.

Over the weekend, there was supposed be a photography session with some friends, but it was canceled. Mag wasn’t feeling well. Hope you feel better soon girl. Well, since I was already pump up to take pics. We went “background” hunting instead, while waiting for the talk on wildlife & wedding shots by Calvin Ng organised by Nikon in Centre point. Too bad Cede Prudente wasn’t there to give any talk, I’m sure he got lots to share. Hey, talking bout Centre Point, did anyone realized that there was problem with the air condition in that mall? The thing is, it has been like what..? 3 weeks? And it’s still NOT fix yet… OMG, what’s going on? Seriously, the management should fix it pronto! Now about bout fixing something, I recall that some of the escalators are NOT moving as well.. Double Ding!! or MAYBE as well or they are trying to save electricity? Gee..

Was having a break after shooting. Guess what? It suddenly rained heavily, thank goodness we were in door before the sky decided to rain. We did some jump shots in public, that was ... FUN! I think the people though we were either crazy, lunatic or both!

During the talk, saw lots of Kinabalu Photography Club (KPC) members, guess there were there to give support to their fellow member, Calvin. I saw Mr. Syed and Mr. Gan both ‘orang kuat’ KPC too! The talk was bit too draggy for me. There were some good tips from Calvin though, which I can practice for my next photo shooting.

Finally, I got the time to update my oh-so-dusty blog. Been abandoning it since, well.. long time ago. Didn’t really blog anything interesting, besides my hp kena STOLEN, yeah.. it wasn’t lost but kena STOLEN. Haven’t got a new hp till yet, I am still relying on my previous hp, which today, I realized that the screen is having this weird flickering. *Oh Nooooo* Am still hunting for a phone. (Mas, I know you’ll be reading this, “Suda you ask you dad the rates ka for the hp?) Okay hp issue aside; guess how much I paid for loosing my IC and Driver’s license? It’s RM 4 (administrative or resit fee(?) for police report + RM 110 (penalty for making new IC, you know the police told me that one can get a 50% discount IF you were mugged by somebody and you loose your IC. Adakah? I think they should NOT EVEN charge anything IF that person kena mug, kan? Not that you yang minta kena mug juga kan?) + RM 20 (make a new driving license; this one NO discount, even you were being mug) = RM 134. I’m poorer by RM134 because of that incident. Ouch!

Currently I’m busy with organising an Auto Fair event; I thought this will be an easy-peasy smooth sailing process. There are lots of last minute unforeseen things are happening. First issue with the banners: rental of space (OMG! Punya expensiveee.. I think I should start rent out space in public area.. especially those near the traffic light. I’ll be filthy RICH.. RICH I said!), last minute pull out of exhibitor (don’t you just hate it when people just change their mind oh-so-suddenly), then need to organised 2 prize giving for lucky draw and photography contest.. Still haven’t got a caterer for the high tea. Anybody out there knows a decent price caterer. I need one urgently. Oh, and the souvenir for the photography contest judges!! Gah!!! Aside from that there is another fair in August, which, I’m yet to do.

Sometimes I feel tired working, am always looking forward for the weekends. So that I can do my own thing, macam shopping ka, watch movie, go do my hair ka (lama suda didn’t go to the saloon, my hair really need a trim. I miss Shirley too – a dear friend, my hairdresser) Then when weekend comes, somehow I’ll feel too tired to go out, feels like stay indoor saja, now with the hike of fuel lagi, tambah lagi no mood suda ni. This week has been hectic, I was so busy at work and I feel like I’m running out of mornings and afternoons. There are times I was asking myself, what happen to my morning? At the same time, I was telling myself to take it easy, I should NOT be so tense or stress out coz I can get very stress out when the event I’m doing is getting close. One more thing I’ve realised is, I’m getting heavier. For those who haven’t seen me, I’m chubbier now and my tummy is not getting any flatter. I used to not worry bout my weigh, but lately.. Been bit worried, must be all those cheezel I’ve been munching.. I *heart* CHEEZEL! Anyone knows how to get a flat tummy? I heard doing sit up helps.. any other ways? Does sitting up straight help as well? Just wondering only.

For all the bad and ugly things happened, there were good things happened as well. I know I should not be miserable. That’s why for every good thing happen I always say ‘Thank you’ to the Big Guy up there, I know He is always looking after me. I should count my blessing for all I know.

Have you ever experience you feel not doing anything EVEN THOUGH there are things need to be done? Well, that's how I feel today. I feel like doing nothing, counting every minutes to go back.. but then this happen.

Guy client: Can I come to meet you in 15 - 20 mins time? ( suda la i anxious to get out from the office)

Me: *looking at the time, 5:42pm* Wow, it'll be 6pm when you get here. I need to go attend something else by then. Can we do this tomorrow? ( sengaja bah, even I got the time I really really don't have the mood to meet anyone dy )

Guy client: Can you do me this favour? I need you to show me the location please coz I'll be going off to Philippines tomorrow. (GOOOOSSHHHH... somebody please just stab me. Help~)

Me: Ok then ( Giving the tidak bersemangat voice, no choice kan.. Kena force! )

Guy client: Maybe I'll be a bit late, coz I'm still in *somewhere* and it's kinda jam now. (OMG~ So this means... I'm going to waste my time waiting for this bugger, and it's NOT even working hours )

It's been a long sickie month. I wasn't been healthy for the whole month. Thank you for those who have been sending me regards and praying for me. For those who came visit me I'm really touched and endless thank you for all of you.

I'm getting better now. I'm taking things slow now. No more hectic life for the moment. It's slow and easy for now. When I was sick I was still thinking of work. Doctor told me to forget bout everything and dont stress myself. Boy, he was right. How to get better when all you can think bout is work, work and work. It's like your body doesnt wanna corporate and you still wanna force it. Not a good idea.

I'm NOT talking bout shutting the blog down, what i meant was me getting sick and I can't even enjoy my holiday today (yupe, it's a public holiday today.. it's Sabah state TYT bday). I've been grounded at home. NO MORE activities at the moment. I'm officially grounded today.. yay~ NOT! But I think getting some rest at home is good for me. I can finally BLOG! ;-)

There are lots of pics I've shot BUT I don't think I can post every single pics here. Oh and, the latest news is I've got myself a NEW job now. Like my previous job, it's something related to advertisement. *Grin* I'm only 1 month plus in my new job and I'm already sick. Geez.. Overwork? I guess soo.. I think it's not ONLY my job contribute to me being sick. There are other factors as well, like, NOT enough sleep and MAJOR rest.

For those who have been coming back visiting my blog, I'm very thankful for you guys.. There wasn't much post.. OKAY.. NO post at all. I hope to blog more, there lots more to share to everyone.

SAWO: PROJECT KG. KIAU

After driving uphill and downhill for nearly 30 mins we finally reah Kg. Kiau! During the ride, we saw hillside padi plants and some pineapple field.

We also passed by the ONLY school in Kg. Kiau ( forgotten what's the school's name ) Btw, it's a primary school. Those who wants to go to the nearest secondary school will be in Kota Belud. That will be in another town.

When we reach there, we were greeted by local women, young and old. Actually we were behind schedule. In another word, we were LATE! We start off with some introduction from SAWO, telling them our objectives visiting them on that day. We taught them to use the video camera. Why you ask? Coz we believe in using other method to reach out and do presentation. Rather than giving 2 hours lousy sleepy speech, we use multimedia and theater to reach out. It makes the audience more interactive and attentive ( it rhymes!)

In my group's acting, I was acting the drunken hubby that hits his wife! Hehe.. Evil!

We stop the workshop around 12.30pm for lunch. Resumes after an hour. The second half of the workshop was to do a 15mins video filming, which the participants need to product. Sorry no pics were taken after the lunch, I totally forgotten to take any pics.

SAWO: PROJECT KG. KIAU

Note: This is another super duper late post. Yes, I know, late AGAIN! Well, it's better to be late than post nothing rite?

On the 1st May 2007 (Labour Day), me and the SAWO team went to Kg. Kiau to conduct a workshop to promote awareness about women's issue besides doing some documentary for this coming June's Fiesta Feminista. For those who dunno what is SAWO ( Sabah Women Action Resource Group ), it's started in 1985 by a group of concerned women and men to take up mainly issues of violence and discrimination against women particularly in Sabah. So it's NOT those group ONLY mommy mommy saja yang join tau! Men can join as well, no need to shy shy okay.

The workshop starts at 8am, so we need to get there by 7.30am. So I woke up at 4.15am. Really sacrifice my sleeping time for this trip can! I didn't want to drive there using my car so I hitch hike Agnes's ride. I arrived at her place 10 mins to 6am. Bloody early!!!!!!

We managed to arrive Pekan Nabalu around 7++am. The team are supposed to meet up at this spot. Agnes thought we were late but actually we were the 1st car to arrive. Malaysia time bah, people always come late one.

We had breakfast here while waiting for the rest of the team.

After breakfast, I went to check out the stalls selling local handicrafts.

After shooting this tower, I got stung by a bee!!!!!!!
I asked one of the old lady at the stall for bee medicine and they actually pointed and show me where to get the medicine. They ask me get "Minyak Batu", that was the 1st time I heard such medicine.

It was getting late and we continue the journey, actually all of the SAWO team has arrived. They were looking for me actually coz I had wonder off to shoot some pics. The thing is they didn't know I was looking for the bee medicine. BAH!!

After less than 10 mins of driving, we finally saw the junction to Kg. Kiau! The road to the Kiau is bit challenging coz it's gravel and some part of the road is VERY steep. Don't play play hor!

The new way of advertising!

These days if you open a business or run a business or helping your company to run business you'll surely need to do some marketing or some promotional stuffs rite? This is to advertise your products or services. *NOTE: Don't worry, I'm NOT advertising my company here! winks!*

I came a cross another interesting way to promote your brand or company using your BUTT! And they call it Ass-vertise!

They even got a website for Ass-vertise.

According to this website, all you need to do is to put logo or whatever message you want on on the seat of a pair of bikini style panties.

So if you wanna promote your company, you can just ask somebody to wear a panties with your company logo on it. SIMPLE HOR!!!!

So here is step-by-Step on how to do Ass-vertisement:

Step one:
Hire pretty gals ( or guys ) with nice butt of course! Then ask them to walk on the location where you think you target market is.

Step two:
When they see some potential client, they will SHOW them their ass.. i mean the ads ;p

If showing one by one is NOT OBVIOUS enough, you can make them do it all together :D Which will look something like this!

Well, you're WRONG buddy, check this out!

Apparently KODAK was using ass-vertisement technique as well to promote their product during a photo convention in Ukraine. What happen was, they hired 2 pretty babes to wear super short skirt with Kodak logoed panties underneath and then drops things on the convention floor and pick them up. So when they pick up the stuffs, the panties with the logo would eventually be seen by others.

It's not tu-long ago when Tu-Long was open ( pun intended! )

Last Wednesday I went to the grand opening to Tu-Long restaurant in Warisan Square. I went there with Stephanie. There were couple of local celebs attended the opening as well. I guess it was for publicity purposed. So here are some pics taken using Stephanie's camera. I didn't bring mine coz my parents borrowed it from me for a week T_T. It's ALIVE!!!!

Okay here's the deal. Remember when I was telling every single living thing ( well, ALMOST! ) that my camera is DEATH. NOT WORKING. ROSAK. NDA BOLEH GUNA. It turns out that there was NOTHING wrong with the camera BUT the charger was the one NOT WORKING! Aduh, can you imagine that. It felt like agessss I haven't been taking any REAL pics and that sucks BIG TIME! But seriously, I was already got over with the "death" of my precious, and was thinking of getting a new "baby" ( camera la wey, not OTHER things that your thinking ). Some friends were asking me to invest in SONY Alpha ada yang pula suruh beli Nikon D200 and etc.

So back to my old "faithful" camera. I feel like I was reunite with her. Seriousness!!! I was trying to take some silly shots of my last nite BUT I didn't like any of the pics and deleted it ALL.. Gah! Well, thanks to my parents ( oh thank you soo much! ) they WERE the one who found out that there's nothing WRONG with my camera. The place/shop that they went to check my camera told them that the prob was the charger. The thing is, I sent my camera to SONY SERVICE CENTRE to check my camera ( with a help of a friend - he's into photography as well - so that I don't need to pay for service charge or something.. tulung sya la kunun! ) and the SONY technician guy told me that the IC chip in the camera was BURNED ( YEAH RITE! ) . I was crushed when I heard that!

So now, I got 2 conclusion about what happen to my camera ( yg kena pronounce ROSAK for no reason this ):

Reason 1:
The guy was TOO LAZY to check the camera ( since nda kena bayar juga kan, bagus kasi tau something wrong with it.) E.g scenario:

The SONY guy:
Miss, your camera's IC chip has burned. To replace it you need to pay couple hundreds. So, I recommend you to get a new camera instead.
( doesn't it sounds like the typical reason given to the customers? )

Reason 2:
Conspiracy done by my friend and the SONY guy, so that I will buy new camera from them?? Fyi, my friend keeps asking me to get a new camera. Imagine him talking in singlish tone: I can help you to get veli cheap price one you know, dealers price!!

Anyways, I'm happy to know that my good ol' camera still can be use and the photograph drought will be OVER soon and hopefully more new post will be out as well.

It's a day before Chinese New Year eve and I'm still working, sounds fun? NO! I'm so NOT in mood to work at all since Monday. Been slacking, well NOT intensionally but it just HAPPEN! So the whole week as been some sort like honeymoon week. Well I did work just NOT as productive that's all... shhh...

Oh yeah, Monday I went to New Sabah Times to represent my brother to a gift presentation session. He got 3rd prize for a competition organised by BodyShop. It was really last minute thing and my bro just call me up and ask me to go. He was outstation. It turns out that the guy who was giving out the prize ( from BodyShop ) was a friend of my brother during high school. Same class some more. wow! O.o Small world! Then couple days after, I got a call from one of the Marketing personnel of New Sabah Times telling me that my pic is in the newspaper. Cool! But seriously I don't read New Sabah Times so I didn't manage to see how did the pics looked like. So if anyone got a copy of Thursday's ( or was is Wednesday ) New Sabah Times paper can save if for me. ;)

Last Wednesday was the launching for the new Terminal 2 airport, which coincidentally was the launching for Akira Digital Media's 4 screen panel. I was there for the launching, and it felt like I'm going for a 'kenduri'! There were sooooooooooooo many people! Check out the pics below.

Last week there was this guy who called and keep on asking what's my name. Like huh? What's the deal? I think the 1st time he called he was using a fix line, 088-2xx xxx I dont remember what was the number. He called around 8-9pm?

Me: Hello.
The-irritating-male-caller: Siapa nama kamu? *What's your name?*
Me: *Confuse me* Kamu mau cari siapa? *Who are you looking for?*
The-irritating-male-caller: Saya mau tau nama kamu *I wanna know what's your name*
Me: *getting pissed* Kenapa? *Why?*
The-irritating-male-caller: Saya TANYA siapa nama kamu? *I ASK what is your name?*
Me: *Hung up the phone*

Tell me that's NOT a 'gotcha' call or something. Initially I was thinking that it was a wrong number and ignored the whole thing. Guess I was wrong. Over the weekend the same guy called AGAIN! asking the same question. I mean like, come on, if the person REALLY wants to know what's my name - can he be more polite? I mean the way he asked, it's like very impolite and irritating. Plus he didn't introduce himself OR tell me what's all the fuss bout knowing my name?

Besides calling, he tried sms me too! O.o Well, I ignored the sms. Why bother rite? Anyone who know this number 014 8540727. Please tell him STOP asking my name! Well I hope this is the end of the 'Siapa nama kamu' episode.

Yesterday I was trying to send sms to my friend but the sms cant seemed to get through. I keep on getting the same message: Message Sending Failed! I re-send the sms for like 4 times in a row. Thought it was another problem with the connection. I got fed up and stop sms her instead I've call her using a fix line.

Then his morning, I was trying to sms my friend ( another different friend ) and I got the same failure message AGAIN! GAH! What's going on man? It was the same problem I was having yesterday. So I thought something WAS wrong with the telco service provider I was using. This afternoon when I tried to call somebody and I cant bloody call outtttt...... WHAT?!

At 1st I thought I ran out of credits, but when I've double check my credits, there's still credits what? As I was checking my credit I noticed that I need to reload before 5/2/07 and today it is already the 6th of Feb!! OMG! So it wasnt the telco problem after all ;p Opsie!

Happy New Year everyone?

Gosh, I know I'm totally late. More than late, I'm so yesterday bout wishing everyone HAPPY NEW YEAR. My bad, maybe I should update more frequent. Yeah, maybe I should do that *writing a mental note* Oh yeah, I've changed job. Yupe, I'm in the advertisement industry now. christmas fever

It's chirstmas eve and I'm stuck at home down with a fever! Had been sick since last Sunday. Yes, last Sunday!! I went to the doctor on monday, had a day of MC. Thought I'm fully recover after that guess I was wrong. Tuesday was the ONLY day I was fine without any feverish feeling. It was on and off fever ever since then and I'm so tired of feeling drowsy, all thanks to the medication I'm on. This morning I woke up with the tune of 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town', guess my neighbour is getting all xmas mood.

I'm so sick of geting sick! It's NOT fun when you cant have fun on holidays and stick to strick diet when your sick! GAH~! I'm not gonna make this fever slow me down on xmas now. I'm just gonna be strong and heck with the fever! I'm going out party!!!

Oh well, Merry Christmas everybody and party safe! Remember dont drink and drive now.

Glorious Nature, As a matter of FAX! - Day 2

Day 2

Woke up bloody early around 5am I guess. Got all prepare for the morning walk at 6am. We ( me and manager ) went to the cafe to grab some breakie 1st. Seems like only hand full of us going for the morning walk. I think the rest of them are totally worn off.

The morning sight of Tabin - It was a coooold morning, brrrr~!!

Our guide was showing us animals foot prints and ways to identify them, I think graduate from "Identifying animal foot prints" liao wey! ;p We saw birds, insects, plants and lots and lots of fresh foot prints.

This little fella was the 1st bird I've sighted in the morning - it's a broadbill!

Look at it's beak you'll get what I mean! - I saw it from the cafe somemore.

On our way back we saw this MEGA-HUGE-OVER-SIZE millepede!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanna share to you all, this is a dipterocarp seed.
Tabin Wildlife Reserve made up of 120,500 hectares of dipterocarp rainforest. If you can't imagine how big is 120,500 hectares it's twice of the size of singapore!!!

This is another unique plant - it belongs to the cactus family.. nice :)

Ladies and gentleman, boys and gals and all furry animals gather round now..
This is a Mengaris Tree.
According to our guide it is to be the TALLEST TREE!!!!!!!!!
Our Borneo's Mengaris trees are taller then those in the Amazon forest or those in the African jungle (!) and this Mengaris tree was part of the primary forest. There's only left 10% (I think?) of the forest in Tabin is consider primary forest. Now, try to imagine how long does it takes for the minerals from the roots of the tree to pump up to the top of the leaves? Anyone knows the answers? This questions has been bugging me ever since I saw this tree in Tabin.

Around 7:45am we head back to the cafe. Had 2nd round breakfast. Hungry la, habis kena burn suda the food we ate early that morning during the morning walk.

The next activity was jungle trek to the Lipad waterfall. Since it rained last nite, I was preparing for our friendly little friend from the jungle.

Yes, we came across lot of this blood sucking creatures but I heard the leeches are actually helping to suck out all the bad blood in our body so we shouldn't be sooo scared of this tiny creature. *blink* If you were thinking did I get any bites from them. Well luckily NONE! But they were on my pants and my hands but I managed to pull them off me before they could start feasting on me. I even help others to pull off the leeches from them too! Guess when you in the jungle everybody should watched each other's back. Team work!

It was a lonnnnnng journey indeed. Have you ever notice that to get to a destination seems to take longer than going back from the place. It took us around ALMOST 2 hours to reach our destination. Before the reaching the waterfall we saw..

This is how a Napenthese ( did i get the name rite? ) plant's leave looks like. Napenthese is also know as the pitcher plant.

Well, technically we didnt really see them, but we saw their foot prints and lots and lots of elephant dungssss.... they can really make huge 'cakes'! ;p Oh well, the elephants were not at sight. Our guide has warm us that IF we do meet face-to-face with this huge mamal. Make sure we retreat and move backward slowly.. fast movement may scare them. You dont wanna end up as elephant 'pancakes' do you?

So this is what we saw after almost 2 hours of trekking in the jungle!

What a relieved, I was happy and had this feeling of satisfactory and accomplishment in me. Suddenly this journalist was asking me: 'I thought we're supposed to see waterfall, where is the waterfall?' Then it hit me, yeah... where is the waterfall? We came this far not to see a river but a waterfall. The guide to us that the last leg of the trekking was to cross the river to get to the side of the river then we can see the waterfall from there. WHHHAT?

At 1st I was like no way, nah-ah! I'm not gonna get myself soaking wet just to see the waterfall! But after been persuaded by one of the journalist I gave in and force myself to cross the river. It was kinda fun actually and the water was sooooooo coooolinggggggg. Half of my pants were wet, so were my leech socks ( how come I didnt think of taking of my shoes and the socks before crossing? weirddd )

Yes, this is the same waterfall just that there are twin waterfall!!
This happens normally after a heavy rain. If you noticed on the 1st pic of the waterfall, you can see there is a bit of water coming down from the other side.

I think we've spend like 45mins to an hour at the waterfall before we head back. Both of my legs were numb. I can't feel them, it's like there we walking on auto-pilot! Poor legs. Moral of the story is: Please make sure you're fit and ready to go jungle trekking!! It took me couple of days to get my legs back to normal mode again.

We were super duper late when we got back to lodge. We were supposed to check out at 1pm I've reached there at 12:45pm. I have like 15mins to shower & have my lunch!!!!!! walao weh! How to do like dat? Superman meh? So we ended up leaving Tabin at 1.30pm. As we were late we had to rush to the airport. Our flight was at 4.30pm. Everyone was tired but still able to mingle in the airport. Then came the bad news around 4pm, our flight has been delayed to 5.30pm. GAAAHH~!!

To make things better S from FAX airline decided to belanja us 'yam cha' in the near by mamak stall. Everything was all good, we had our roti canai, some asked for soto ayam and of course some drinks. We chatted more to get to know each other and that's how we managed to burn our time.

Around 5.30pm we board our plane. The journalist was snapping pictures of the aircraft and NOBODY WAS YELLING AT THEM????!!! how can this happen? I was warn NOT to take footage and this bunch of people just came in and take like heaps of pictures and it was ok?? WALAO WEY! DOUBLE STANDARD! bikin panas eh! By then I have no mood to take any pics liao. Xian Tiao!

We got back to kk around 6.30pm. I was tired but it was a fun weekend over Tabin. Psstt, I got more mosquitor bites on me rather than leech bite.

Day 1

Time is 6.20am - woke up early to do my last minute packing. Just then, S from FAX called.

S: Hi Amy! Your still alive there?
me: Yeah yeah.. how's things over there?
S: There's one more passanger still havent come yet?
me: who??!
S: A from xx megazine, did you call everyone to come to the airport by 6am?
me: yeah, i did.
S: I've tried to call and sms him but no reply from him. Have any other numbers that I can contact?
me: *WTH* no, thats the only number I've got
S: maybe you can try call him, he knows you rite? he has anther 5 mins before boarding now. me: yeah ok, i'll try.

I've tried to called this guy but seems like he didnt pick up my calls. HECK! I've tried sms too, no use - coz no reply. I called S back.

me: hey S, the guy didnt pick up my calls or return my sms too!
S: nvm then, this things happens
me: ok then. See you later
S: yeah, see you later.

My flight is at 9.30am but still need to go to the office to pack some stuffs to bring to Tabin. My dad send me to the airport, then there were 2 lady approched me at the entrance. It turns out that it were a mother and daughter. The daughter asked me to help her mom to check-in her flight. Being a good-hearted person i just help her la! I checked-her in quickly and went straight to my office. I need to do some last minute accommodation arrangement for ANOTHER extra person going to TABIN. Reallllllly last minute one. Luckily still got plc for 1 more, else someone is going to sleep with the mossie outside in the dark. Hehehe...

When I was walking towards the aircraft I took up my handycam and start shooting but some GUY came by and stop me from filming. WHAT THE!! He said this place is not allowed to take shots?! HUH? whatever!

When I boarded the plan I just realised that I've lost my cap!!!!!!!! darn it! Must have fell off when I was taking out the handy cam.

Just in case your thinking what plane did I board on, it's a Fokker 50 via FAX (Fly Asian Express) more info check flyasianxpress.com. I took the 2nd daily flight to Lahad Datu.

Less than 1 hour we've ( I was with my manager and a birder - Mr. CK Leong ) reach Lahad Datu airport. Lahad Datu airport is one of those airport that was build ages ago and till today still havent been renovate before. I was told that the runway was build since WWII. Gasp! Our luggage was literally delivered by a hand-pulled trolley somemore! Talking bout old skool man!

As soon as we got our luggage, Mike our Tabin driver was waiting us outside the airport. I just noticed that the airport was very very extremely near to the town. Near as in opposite the road - super near hor? We went to this place ( something like a food court) in Lahad Datu town for brunch. After lunch we went to pick up a freelance tour guide - Simon Ambi at his 'warung'. Dont play-play tour guide also got warung!

Thanks to the gravel plantation road, the ride to Tabin was bit bumpy even though we're traveling using a land crusier. The journey to Tabin took is like 1 hour+. Oh yeah, we saw a 'biawak' on the road while we're on our way to Tabin.

Welcome to the land of Tabin

Upon arrival we're served with a cool 'kit-chai-ping' refreshment drink. I guess that's the official welcome drink in Tabin. Oh they also gave us a 'chilled-wet-face-towel' too. For what you ask? For... you know to freshen up... and..... ada la kegunaan dia nanti tu ;p

We were welcomed by the resort manager - EQ. Super friendly and bubbly fella. Always managed to crack up jokes and make things lively. Btw, I had to RE-PACK the Media Kit!! SOMEONE *ahem* didn't like how it was pack! Gosh, super 'ngiam-ciam' not? After finished re-packing we had our lunch (EAT AGAIN! - I thought we just ate, like 2 hours ago? O.o ) Psst.. I didnt even finished half of the lunch, then they order additional fried mee somemore..
EQ said 'Mr. Marcus told me to take care of her daughter'. Har? To me EQ trying to make me choke with food >.<

Hillside lodge - This was the one I was staying in

Me and my manager shared a room. We unpacked our stuffs and had a 30-45mins rest. After that I was getting all gear up with the leech socks and my wellington booths ala 'phua-chu-kang' booths and equipt with long sleeves. Hey, I'm not over paranoid but just taking precautious what. In the end I find myself dressing like a gardener!! No kidding!!

The media troops came in around 5pm. It was kinda late and everyone was kinda excited to get into the 1st activity which is trekking to the mud volcano.

Guess which is me? ;-)

We were brought to a junction by using 1 lorry and a pick-up truck. Average trekking to the nearest mud volcano supposed to be around 30 mins but since that this bunch of people were the media and media took and shot lots of pics along the way which made the duration last longer then what we were expected. During the trekking in the jungle you can safey off your cell phone. NO coverage la babe! The way to the mud volcano was not too bad, not as rough as I've imagine.

We were brought to this HUG tree which you can go inside it and come out from the other side. I heard from someone that you must knock on the tree before you take any pictures. It's said to be like asking for permission? Oh-kay... Myth? No harm just to knock on the tree rite? The tree kinda reminds me of the movie, Narnia.

The mud volcano was not far from the HUG tree. The name of the mud volcano is Lipad mud volcono.

the size of the Lipad mud volcano is like 1 football field.

As you can see the Lipad mud volcano is still active - fresh new mud! yummy! ;p

The mud volcano serve as a salt lick for the animals in Tabin. There were lots and lots of animal foot prints there. The mud volcano is said to be responsible for smooth skin after applying it on ur skin. Reminder: know where your getting your mud from, best ones are those newly generated ones, coz others might have something ADDITIONAL stuffs in it, I dunno.. maybe you might find animal dung? hello? lots of animal visit the mud volcano rite? oh and watch your step too.. coz some part of the mud volcano might be bit soft when you step on it and you might sinked! Dont worry too much, just follow instuction you'll be okay :) I felt like part of National Geographic team when I went to the mud volcano - seriously!!

We were supposed to jungle trek out from the mud volcano before 6pm but we were behind schedule! It was bloody dark in the jungle, and I didn't bring my torch light. Now I understand what's the torch light for. Gezz!

We successfully came out from the jungle 15 mins before 7 ( I think? or was it by 7 pm? ) and we were supposed to have our BBQ dinner and 'frying pakis' competition (?) but due to bad weather the 'frying pakis' had to be cancel coz it was supposed to be held in an open space. Oh well.. The BBQ dinner was NOT too bad! Ate quite a bit. Heheh.. I wasnt a fan of 'pakis' but I've tried a bit and tell you the truth, it didnt taste that bad. :) During dinner it poured heavily! I went back to the room for a bath after dinner. Suprisingly the rain stopped and the night activities continue. Since we were a big group we need to be split into 2 groups. One will be going to watch the presentation slide at the hall while the other one going to the night safari. Then switch actitivy.

So my manager ask me to go for the night safari 1st. Boy, was I excited! We climb back to the lorry, and i brought along an umbrella JUST IN CASE it rains. Oh remember to bring your binocular too during the safari - it helps, trust me! :)

but I heard during the second night safari, they saw MORE animalsssss... like the sun bear, orang utan, beared pig... etc. On our way back from the night safari, it started to pour AGAIN! Gosh! So I took my umbrella BUT I had to share it with another 2 person. 1 Umbrella, 3 person!! Guess we did not get any much coverage. I was telling this jornalist from Her World who was sitting next to me that we're soooo gonna get sick that nite! After the night safari, we went into the hall to watch the presentation. I was cold and wet!! Brrrr..... During the presentation this I was sitting next to this photojournalist from virtual malaysia she was soundly asleep with her mouth open widely. Priceless look - wanted to snap it BUT I dont have a camera with me. I bet she was very very tired from waking up bloody early in the morning and from the trekking. She sleep thought the entire presentation, we were sitting in the front row somemore!!!

Oh and each of us had made a mud certificate after viewing the presentation. Yay! I returned to our lodge after that. Gonna wake up early next day for the morning walk - 6am!!!!!!!

Today is Wednesday - 2 more days before the Media FAM trip to TABIN!

Currently I'm waiting for my lunch ( time check: it's 1:46pm! Heck, I'm starving!!! gahhhh! ) My colleague is supposed to 'ta-pau' for me like an hour ago?!? ) Might as well blog a bit while waiting for the food. Today I'm packing the Media Kit for this Friday's trip and I'm still short of ONE pair of leech socks ( Just in case you wanna know: leech socks is something you might wanna use when your going jungle trekking - yes, the name tells it all - to prevent leech bites. Yikes!) Weird thing was, I'm VERY sure I got the right amount of socks this morning. Anyways I've requested another one.

I'm tired BUT excited!

Tired part:
#1 - The one that cannot make decission
People from the media keep changing the names and flight time. I'm not the person who owns the airline la wey! How to simply make changes har?

#2 - Lagger ( lagging person )
The BEST part - last minute confirmation!
Don't you hate it when you gave someone dateline and they dont bother till the last second. They finally relised time is short and they keep calling you even when it's after office hours?! Like hello? Don't other people need some time off?

Yes, it will be my maiden trip to Lahad Datu. Hope get a good look of that place.

I'm going to visit Tabin Wildlife Reserve! The land where Sumantran Rhinoes & Borneo Pygmy Elephants roam! To see the famous Lipad mud volcano - maybe to get a DIY mud spa too.. hehe.. Jungle trek to the waterfall, maybe I'm luckily enough to catch the 'jumping fish' in action (mana la tau 'lady luck' is at my side?)

I've been missing from cyber space again - well not entirely, i do online just that i dont get much time to blog these days, bz la ba.. work and work and more work... sometimes i just feel like slow down, doing things on my own time, go for a walk or something.

Flash back:
Couple weeks ago I had a some time off - yes, thanks to deepavali and hari raya - bless malaysia and it's multi-culture! I went to the mountains during deepavali, spend great time there BUT the thing is i GOT sick after that - so i had a sickie raya - stayed home watched telly for hours till my eyes dropped! lol, that's tooo drastic, what i wanted to say was, i've spend my sickie time wasted on telly... been sometime havent watch that MUCH telly..

Back to present:
Anyways, now holidays are over - it's back to working - presentation, meetings, designs, datelines.. geezz.. tired la wey! That's what i do for getting paid - meet people, meet MORE people.. just that sometimes i'll meet prettty weird and desperate people.. which some DOESNT take NO for an answer! sigh! pathetic people!

It was raining heavily last nite. This morning the rain has mellowed down and eventually stopped, but not for long. The rain resumes again! Hey, it's noon now and it's still pouring heavily. Did someone upset mother nature?

Anyways, there were flights been cancelled, delayed and some can't even land. Heard it was due to poor visibility - oh and thanks to the haze somemore. Fyi, the API (Air Pollution Index) for KK was recorded at 82 yesterday. Looks like it's increasing by the day. Gah!

Hope the the elephants & rhinos turn back to cats and dogs.. I DONT WANNA STAY AT THE AIRPORT TONITE!

Could you believe that I didn't even notice such a beautiful church exist near my neighborhood all this time??? Couples of weeks ago I've stumble upon this beauty, accidentally mind you, I was on my journey to Lembah Impian ( I'll be blogging about that in another post )

I’ve stopped by and get some shots. I heard some music came out from the church, therefore I took a peek and I saw some youths are doing music practicing. They didn’t notice me snooping around outside.

Then suddenly this dude came out from the church to this car. I was trying to act NOT to be suspicious coz that time I was armed with a camera at hand. So I was making my best impression like I was a regular at that place. ( which I am NOT, it was my 1^st time there! )

Remember my bday cake baked by Fiona & Emilina made for me?

I was curious how to bake a cheesecake and I decided to ask my baker.. I mean Fiona my NEW sifu to teach me.

So I went to Fiona’s place couple weeks ago after begging and pleading her till she must teach me ( nah, didn’t beg or plead actually.. made that part up. Fiona is a sweet person and she’s willingly to share me her secret recipe *hug Fiona* )

I wanted to take a photograph of Fiona BUT she was reluctant to be photographed. Maybe she wanted to remain anonymous (?) therefore no picture of her will be shown here.

Now, back to serious business..

Moral of the story: DON'T EVER OVER CHARGE YOUR MOBILE PHONE!

Blogger's confession: It happen to me once, my charger kinda had a "mini" explosion. I was charging my phone in my room. The socket got burned and the charger is in the dusbin now. Lucky part of the incident: my mobile phone survived. Thank goodnes!

Moral of the story: Talking on the phone while charging is NOT wise.

Harvest Fest in KDCA

For those who miss out the fest last month in KDCA, do not fret here are some pics I managed to take while I was there for some *ahem* promotion. The upside of going: I got the chance to snap some pics! Yay! Downside of going: Had to work on a holiday. Pff! Oh and Thanks to the GOOD weather that day I got myself sunburned too. Ah yes, typical HOT day in Kota Kinabalu. Should have slapped on MORE sun block! >.<

Back to the story, I’ve reach KDCA before 8am that day. Yupe, had to; No choice! Need do some setting up. After that I went photo hunting.

I forgotten what izzit called kupang? ( Mas: what's the name liao har? ) but it’s belong to one of the “shell” family.

They were selling 2 types.

This one – the shell looks bit rough.

And this one – the shell is smoother.

They actually help you to “panggang” it on the spot.

There was a stall selling “Jaruk Tuhau”

For those who do not know what is Tuhau. It means Ginger ( or wild ginger? )

I went into the longhouse and they were selling lots of handicraft, too bad I had NO time to check out the thing that were on sale. Boohoo!

Sometimes I feel that Harvest festival is being overly tourimize. Yeah well, it's true that Harvest festival is the MAJOR attraction for Sabah and for May is being the busiest month for those in the tourism line.

For me harvest fest NOT ONLY about getting the Ang-Mo or tourists in the country..

A big kiss goodbye to month of May! Welcome June.. Actually it's a late June greeting coz it's the middle of the month now, it's 21st to be exact.. how fast rite?

1st Update!
PC in ICU

Last few days has been another chapter of technology against aMy ( and MK too! Read on you get what i mean ). My pc at work it NOT working now. Due to some drivers problem! GAH! It was running smoothly before my PC hangs on me and all the sudden the drivers went missing *poof.. gone!* a virus? a trojan? The best answer I can give to myself is file-corrupted-technology-mulfunction whatever!

It happen on last Friday MK was doing alot of things, like duplicating a DVD and backing up some file from his personal laptop to the company's laptop (which he just purchased not long ago *ahem* MK: btw, where's mine?) MK keep on telling me there were some problem while he was doing the back up. File won't transfer.. yada.. yada.. Then he can't duplicate the DVD thingy... Oh and previous days he can't get hook into the internet or print anything from the new laptop!

Then ,he was jokingly said it was a bad luck day! Then I added on saying maybe there was some bad aura in the room. Bad bad thing to say. I should have just zipped it! Coz the next thing I know my PC hanged and drivers went missing! ARGH!

So till today my PC is still in ICU..

1st, I tried installing the driver TWICE! no use.. Zac told me maybe I should reinstalling the OS. Done that! problem still there! ( zac: something wrong with your win98 cd la friend, file missing! ) Seek friends to helped up - Mase ( provide me driver - still no use! some file missing ): Thanks buddy!, Suren: thanks for the help.. yeah, wish you were here to help me too!, Henry: your file didn't successfully transfer lar. Thanks for helping anyways!, Ong ( the SUPPOSED to be the IT guy for my company ): Thanks for asking me what was the problem BUT not helping me.

Conclusion: Today MK is gonna bring in a technician guy ( NOT from our IT dept, pfff! ) to nurse my PC back to original condition! Btw, MK let me use his laptop since I'm PC less now. Yay! Thanks MK!

2nd Update!
Camera got kidnap

Nah, nobody kidnap my baby.
Just my mom borrowed it for awhile, mom & dad went for a vacation to the land of the limestone (Gui Lin). Parents got back last sunday, just in time for father's day! But parents were too tired to go anywhere to celebrate.. aww.. This is late but Happy Daddy's Day to all!

Deviants Day Out

Note: This is a DA meet up entry.

Couple months back I’ve met up with Ali G ( take pics & does graphic manipulating stuffs – neat! ) & Mase ( Take mostly nature’s pics and kitties ). I did blog bout that outing on my fs’s blog ( coz that time I still don’t have a blogspot.com account )

This time around I’m meeting up with RobJr AKA Robby ( that’s what I call him ) AKA Acing ( which Mase calls him ). Actually Mase and Robby are ‘geng keras’ – means good friends or friends since… I dunno, since zaman kegemilangan sultan mahmud shah! ;p that just way long..

The whole plan was grab brunch at RIMBA café then hang out at Tg Aru beach.

Around 9am I’ve received a sms from Mase. She was kinda sickie. Oh tidakkk! At 1^st I thought she couldn’t make it since she’s feeling “feverish” BUT she determined to come for the meet up. I smsed her back telling her "not to force herself if she don’t feel like going or else her mom will scold me and Robby for making her ill" ;p That made Mase laugh.

Mase picked Robby up, so they came together and we finally meet up.

First thing I noticed was both Mase & Robby were the FAIR type. I mean the skin color. I’m the one who looked like I’ve been doing sun tanning a lot ;p People always thought that I’m into swimming because of my tanned skin. The thing is I don’t even know how to swim.. Teeheehee..

As planned we had our brunch at RIMBA.

Oh yeah, before Mase & Robby came I was checking out RIMBA. I was "PR-ing" with the people working at RIMBA coz since this was my 1^st time at RIMBA. I found out that RIMBA was owned by a husband and wife team. Husband – some "Ang Mo" guy and wife is a local Kadazan. I saw them both at the café. The wife spoke to me with her American slang, I guess she was staying or studied oversea before this.

At 1^st we were deciding where to 'lepak'. Then we agreed on this cozy place ( which after PR-ing with the people working there.. That place was taken over by Little Italy which before that was owned by SB/Gayana resort. hehe.. I dunno, I realised that after been working in tourism line, I like to ask around about the place I’m in – either for visitation or makan weird huh? )

Bazaar Day

Last Sunday after the Sunday mass, I went to my ( SRJK Shan Tao ) ex-school’s fund raising bazaar. Actually this was Shan Tao’s new building ( they move couple years back ) back then I was still studying at the OLD building near Tzu Yu Kindergarten ( where I used to study before too when I was cartoon ).

Translate:

Time: 8am – 2pm

Mind you it was freaking HOT that morning. There was A LOT of people turn up for the bazaar. Here are some pictures I manage to shoot on that day.

Food and drinks!

Char Kuey Tiau, Satay, liong fun, burger, hotdog,nuggets, "some-meat-stuffs" (forgotten whats the name of the food), few bottles of milk (yogurt?) & a caligraphy wall deco ( which was tricked / forced to buy.. lil rascals! )

Unrelated Story:

On the same day it rain during that evening, I got back home around 6:30pm.

Bath around 7pm.

After bath I saw some cars queuing in front of my house. Didn’t notice anything unusual yet.

After 7.30 still notice cars are still queuing in front of my house. Something is not right. Open the curtains to look outside. Behold! The road right in front of my house was flooded! This was the 1^st time something like this happening since I’ve move to my new place.

After 2 hours my next door neighbor’s place got flooded ( only the car park ). My place still NOT flooded yet. Neighbor had moved their car to my place. Since my place was built on a higher ground.
